Our Approach

While some symptoms and conditions may be fairly straightforward and easy to identify, many people present with a range of symptoms that may be interrelated and difficult to tease apart. The private practice setting allows time for clinicians to meet with patients and families to carefully assess and develop a treatment plan that meets the needs of the patient/family.

Daniel Lyons, NP

Nurse Practitioner (NP) & Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Daniel Lyons is a native Washingtonian who attended Gonzaga College High School (‘03) and Georgetown University (‘07, ‘12).  Daniel received an MSN in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from Drexel University (‘18)  and is board-certified to provide psychiatric care to children, adolescents, and adults.

Daniel has an extensive personal history of issues with focus, concentration, and executive functioning. His personal and professional journey has helped him be able to be acutely aware of the challenges many professionals face. Attempting to adapt to emotional and behavioral differences while simultaneously meeting performance expectations and deadlines. He is committed to helping patients identify techniques to improve their professional and private lives through a combination of behavioral modifications, medications, and integrative approaches.

Daniel envisions a practice in which issues are viewed as variations of a syndrome rather than in a binary system of disease states. In that vein, Daniel hopes to explore treatment options with patients that include pharmacological, psychological, and integrative approaches inclusive of their medical, psychiatric, psychosocial, and genetic histories. He draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for therapeutic interventions and as a guide for pharmacological management. While considering treatment plans, he poses this question, “What is this medication in service of?”
