Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, educator, and healthcare leader for over 10 years.
Senay Tedla, DNP, PMHNP-BC, MBA, BSN, PMP, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, educator, and healthcare leader with over 10 years of diverse clinical experience in medical-surgical, emergency, and psychiatric care settings. He is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
Dr. Tedla currently practices at Suburban Hospital, where he delivers comprehensive psychiatric care and actively participates in quality-improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and healthcare delivery.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Tedla serves as an Adjunct Professor of Mental Health Nursing at Georgetown University, where he teaches undergraduate and direct-entry master’s nursing students. He is passionate about mentoring future nurses and emphasizes therapeutic communication, clinical reasoning, patient-centered care, and evidence-based psychiatric practice.
Dr. Tedla earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Psychiatric Mental Health from the University of Cincinnati. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Louisiana State University Shreveport, a Bachelor of Science in Information Science with a specialization in Data Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
As a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Dr. Tedla combines advanced psychiatric expertise with leadership, healthcare operations, and data analytics to deliver innovative, high-quality patient care. His professional interests include mental health education, quality improvement, and integrating healthcare technology and data-driven strategies to improve mental health outcomes.
